Services using our central identity management system
For the following services you need an SIC Account:
To use some services, e.g. the compute cluster you need to explicitly request access via ticket. For more information, see the corresponding wiki entry.
Other services (usable without SIC account)
Overleaf
The computer science department sponsors an overleaf licence for the Saarland University. You only need to provide an email address which contains a uni-saarland.de domain.
CMS and Discourse
We host the so called CMS (Course Management System), a central platform to organize lectures.
Students and lecturers can register on their own on this platform. If you are a lecturer and need to create a course, you need to contact us via ticket for getting the corresponding instructor rights.
In combination with the CMS, we provide the possibility to host and integrate discourse forums for the lectures. You need to contact us via ticket if you want a forum for your lecture.

Digital Signage
The MI faculty started to roll out several LCD displays in foyers of the faculty buildings (CS, library, MMCI) for digital signage. On these displays you can find actual information about lectures, conferences, information about studying computer science etc.
The system uses the open source software Xibo.
